Every shop I have worked in has had PVC piping. Schedule 40 PVC can withstand 480 PSI.

Question: My residential-use air compressors' drain valves always sputter and even slow down air flow out of them when I open them for draining. Are these some sort of special check valves or moisture valves or something? One is a Craftsman. Just called an air compressor service center and he never heard of the drains doing that. They've acted that way since I first bought them some 25 yrs ago. Perhaps the water gets in the way and interrupts the draining flow, idk.

Hes not installing that size pipe under your house for just water lines... it maybe expensive but longevity...sone drive a Porsche others a camry. If we had tge iotion to choose and had iptions up front to chose, we will chose better. Brass also

just got this problem today mine is different, we have two compressors and it turns on in sequence ( sometime yesterday, both compressors couldn't turn on. it turns out that the ECO status is not active so we have to activate it from the panel monitor by switching the LAN to local and then turn on the ECO status :)

In my experience what this guy saying about PVC is just propaganda many others I’ve talk to in forums have said the same. I have used the thicker PVC and I have seen it break several times at several different shops and the reason why it broke is because someone ran something into it and it didn’t explode it broke into two whole pieces. There was no shrapnel that went across the shop it all stayed in place and was bolted to the wall.

Yes talking about the process is great but I would like to see the 'soap bubble' test on a fitting or connection that is perpendicular to the floor of the building. Horizontal connections are easy but the vertical ones are a challenge.

Instead of doing how to's on things monkeys can understand can we get a motor tear down, seals part lists and rebuild manuals. Cant get any information and every time i call tech support they hang up as soon as i mention what i'm doing. Seems like an incredibly unstable, unmaintained platform of compressors if you offer nothing for them.

Years ago I made the mistake of buying a Chicago Pneumatics, 2 hp, direct drive, 20 gallon, portable air compressor. It was the most over rated, under performing piece of crap I’ve ever bought in my life. As an engineer I expect equipment to perform at its rated specifications. This compressor never came close. Since then I’ve purchased a 2 stage, 80 gallon tank, inter cooled, 7 horsepower compressor for my personal shop use and advised on the purchasing of several more for the company that I worked for. The compressor company that received no consideration from me, after my experience with their 2 hp direct drive compressor, was Chicago Pneumatics. It’s really a shame that a once respected company decided to over rate their product which resulted in them being eliminated from my consideration in the purchase of much larger and more expensive compressors, but some companies will never learn. It’s always refreshing, and a great experience, to have a product perform beyond expectations and extremely disappointing to have a product fail to perform to its advertised ratings. How much has that decision to push the rating on that small, portable compressor cost you CP? It has cost you multiple thousands of dollars in my case and I’m sure that I’m not the only one that has had this off putting experience. Learn from your mistakes, CP, as this one sale has tainted my attitude towards your whole product line and cost you in future sales.

Who outside a dealership is running 175 PSI? That is too high and hard on air tools, why did they leave that out. Ours had a moisture trap system using refrigeration. Then it went into a regulator to drop pressures to 125 PSI, besides we had a full body shop that also needed dry air and clean. I have never worked anywhere running 175 PSI even with pressure drops over distance and my air tools came off the SnapOn truck starting in the early 70’s. Has no one ever read to owners manual for their air tools? Maybe that why lug but break bolts after a stupid tire shop. With or without “Torque Sticks” of different colors. I won’t use then as too many variables. After all, what are torque wrenches for? I have 4 and one is a simple in. Lb. beam-type for pinion bearing preload. The others have stickers from re-certication after checking or adjusting by SnapOn. They use to reman needle nose pliers for free. That’s how long I have been fixing vehicles & motorcycles at a dealer w/o 175 PSI line pressure. Is that a comet in the sky? Nope, just another jet who’s engine fell off! ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired (Bet you sales guy is not, used car sales now with A/C in office. Sissy.
